Forest

The forest is a collection of one or more domains which also have one or more trees. There is a term which is called Schema and his work is that what and how Active Directory objects are stored. Schema also defines the database for the entire forest but is should be remembered that each one domain in the forest has its personal copy of the database based on the schema.

Trusts

Parent and child domain are automatically connected by a trust. Users in similar domains can use these trusts to access resources in another domain assuming that they have access. Trees in the forest are linked jointly via a trust automatic. This ensure that any users in any domain in the forest can access any resource in the forest to which they have access.

Global Catalog

The Global Catalog in order for in categorize for users to find resources in any domain in the forest (keep in mind that each domain has a different database). A Global Catalog Server contain partial information about all object in the forest
